Sad story of a Foreign Talent embraced and kicked out of Sinkieland

First there was Cecilia Sue, now it is Amy Cheong..... When my friend told me got another woman kena the newspaper headlines again, I thought this Amy was another horny lady doing blow jobs with some top government official.

Actually she was an Assistant Director working in a trade union whose original vision was to support and safeguard the employment cum welfare of Singaporean workers.

All the tua liap Ministers were quick to condemn her for making some racist statements on a very peace-loving and friendly race in Singapore. One very brilliant Minister also claims that her actions confirm that our Singapore society has "deep fault lines" leh.....

When it was reported she escaped to Australia, I was puzzled. How can any Singaporean just fly to a foreign country to escape? I recall my Indonesian friend telling me that his Aussie PR status will be revoked after 5 years if he has not been residing there or gainfully employed by the Kangaroos within a 5-year period.

"Come, catch me there... Down Under... Fcuk you la"

Oh, the puzzle was solved when a tabloid newspaper conducted a SECOND interview with Amy Cheong (wow lao eh, why she so fcuk up and vain in creating more publicity har?!). She is actually an Aussie citizen working in Singapore for the past 10 years la....

Upon hearing that, I was very angry with her employer NTUC for failing to integrate her with our local Sinkie population. I heard the Government has $10 million fund for promoting integration of foreigners, how come NTUC never applied to get this fund to educate their own foreign staff har? OR did she fail the integration exam but NTUC closed one eye and continued to employ her??

IF our government and government-linked companies open legs big big for foreigners to work and live in Singapore but did not teach them about racial harmony and yet just fired her like that, isn't it an irresponsible act? Is it very difficult to tell foreign staff on their first day of work that they will be fired immediately if they say or commit any form of racist act here? Of course private companies are free to continue with their Pinoy or Indian empires within their own departments as long as they just bo chap or stay away from Sinkies instead of scolding us Sinkies.

Maybe her CB mouth is really too big and smelly that NTUC got no other choice... It was rumoured she asked NTUC if it was a fair decision to fire her, only for her boss to reply "we are known as NTUC Fair Price."

Hope all the other cheebyX foreign mouths who are still working in Singapore scold us Sinkies in private only, without touching their iPhones or laptops.

Now back to that brilliant Minister.... Yes, he is so wise to see the "deep fault lines" existing between Sinkies and foreigners. I hope other ministers will be as sensitive as him.

In the meantime, we Sinkies ought to reflect on ourselves. If by continually criticizing people like Amy Cheong, will we inherit the sadistic spirit from her?

SMEs, you sure you don't make enough money and want to exit Singapore?

Came across this boliao article in the newspapers recently:
Greedy Bosses complain nobody wants their cheapo job vacancies

Wah lao eh, these SMEs are getting too much liao, now complaining about failure to hire workers to do low-paying jobs

"About 30 per cent of SMEs said they are looking to relocate overseas to stay viable, given the current manpower crunch."

Come on la.... IF you own an SME in Singapore where setting up business is so quick and straightforward and where the government is almost corruption-free but yet you have difficulty in surviving, what are the chances of you surviving overseas?

Many of these SMEs have been over reliant on unbelievably cheap foreign labour till now and yet are threatening the government that they may close shop in Singapore because they have difficulties in hiring more of such labour?! Might as well request the government to import slaves! Laugh my ass off lah... This type of business model is bound to fail!

Like what someone said:  Let these lousy SMEs die faster much better. They can only stay alive by using cheap labour and ripping off employees. Why help these SMEs which die-die want to hire foreign talent in Singapore? Their existence or demise makes no difference to local workers as they will not hire them. If they love FT so much, let them go Pinoy or JB, where they can access to ample FT.

Of course I also understand not all SMEs are bloodsuckers in exploiting workers and some are actually very decent enterprises. I even know of a business owned by a foreign national which employs almost all Singapore workers. I suppose the owner is aware of the fact that he should contribute to the local economy and perhaps he finds it more productive for his workers to speak Singlish to clients. Haha....

Finally I am quite pissed off after gathering some information from whistle blowers working in some undesirable SMEs as below. Do you think we should revamp our SME culture and mindset??

1)  Ask my SME for 10-12 days leave? Tell you go fly kite, die die give you only 7 days leave. Then have some nonsense rule stay 2 years = 1 day leave extra. Dental benefits purposely take 4-5 months to pay you back and hope you forget. Some even play and jiak their employees commission and make up bullshit "sales of items never hit xx,xxx amount so no commission" on the spot. Some lagi best, can 2 years in a row no give bonus to employee, one year even dun give AWS. Then the "shareholders" all upgrade to some super car end of the year, or take a 1 month leave to go Europe or something after announcing that.

2) Some die die don't want to give you 14 days medical leave. Got one interview I went to, the HR person say if want 14 days they will give me less pay. Wtf?

3)  SME in sg main aim are to maximise profit at employee's expense.... They are majority run as Family Business, if you are not part of their family, you probably will not have much benefits. Bonuses and allowances are usually given more to family members... ... One SME i know is that all the family members in the business have company cars with all expense paid by the company account, regardless of their roles.
Ordinary employees can only take BMW- bus, mrt, walk

4) Since 2009 i have been remarking that SMEs in Singapore are having clutch mentality.... I used to do audit and had the unfortunate task of dealing with alot of those tuas SME. Their scale is not small but when u see their accounts. U just feel disgusted.... The bosses pay themself so much yet still crying to government  hard to do business etc etc..... 9.5 out of 10 SME i dealt with, all paid crap benefits and salaries to their staffs while they pay themselves good amount coz they could just employ foreign trash.... i know of one that even declared super high dividend for themselves resulting in low overall profit, then go tell the staffs (non-finance) de that this year profit very low so no AWS/Bonus (btw they lump AWS as bonus)..... The finance manager i dealt with keep on bitching to me.

5)  If SMEs cannot compete in pay, at least try to compete in the human touch lor. Some refuse to even reward employees in small ways, company D&D is in office with small spread of cheapo food, overseas trip claim is give you back 3 months later, etc.

6)  SMEs cant make it lah..... Transport claim was close to pittance, no dental / medical benefits.... The director in my previous SME company gave NTUC vouchers as gift for one of my colleague's wedding.... I ji tao until PENG... My director still got cheek to whine about fresh Uni graduates who join us keep leaving for greener pastures.

Malaysia Cup: Is Singapore Football Pathetic Or Not?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update as on 19 Sep 2012 (Wed):
FA$ President Zainudin Nordin claims he is "very sorry" about this incident. But he will not be doing anything to appease fans such as offering FREE entry to the next Malaysia Cup match or refunding all bets placed with Singapore Pools on the match results. A check with Singapore Pools actually reveals that bets WILL be refunded if matches are abandoned.
FA$ President says sorry nia, sees no need to take any action
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match in which the LionsXII drew 0-0 with Johor FC on 14 Sep 2012 (Fri), kiasu coach Sundram was quoted in the press as saying:
“After 60 minutes, the attack died down because the players were tired. They have had too many back to back games.”

It seems that the coach discovered that after 60 minutes, his players were simply too tired or maybe had been smoking too much, so they stopped playing football and just passed the ball to one another without attacking. Eventually it resulted in a draw. But the last time I heard, football is actually a game played over 90 minutes, not 60 minutes.

Surprisingly, key defender Baihakki Khaizan spilled the beans on Friday night by saying the players were "just following orders", ie. they could still play football if they wanted to:

Also the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has yet to apologize for the unsporting behaviour of its team of professional players. The FAS president Zainudin Nordin, also a Member of Parliament, was even quoted as saying "The less that is spoken of the match, the better". I wonder what our sports-related minister Teo Ser Luck thinks about this incident. He attended the London Olympics recently, so he should know something about fair play or sports ethics, right? Maybe he needs to check with Zainudin Nordin if he really uttered such a statement or are his words being "taken out of context"?!

(By the way, I still don't understand why politicians are tasked to head sports associations? Eg. Lee Bee Wah (table tennis), Lee Yi Shyan (badminton), etc. Shouldn't they spend more time interacting with their residents and let people with sports/community background lead the associations instead?)

I really can't imagine this is the pathetic state of Singapore football, after more than 10 years of a so-called professional football league. Jialat liao... Think got no cure.

Tell me if you think FAS should apologize.

[For coach's quote & background information, see below:]
http://www.goal.com/en-sg/news/3879/malaysia-cup/2012/09/15/3377365/lionsxii-coach-sundrams-message-to-the-fans-the-boys-will-be

Lastly, some well-meaning comments from a few cow-peh cow-bu fans:
The essence of sportsmanship which every father, mother or coach had ever imparted to his children and charges have all been thrown down the waterway.

If Johor chose not to play, there is no reason why Sundram's boys should follow into the Devil's Horn.

I am really ashamed to hear the infuriated fan hurling his contempt and major disappointment in his interview after the game.

It is only right if Sundram comes out and apologise. He can say he did his job to make the team progress into the QF, but his naivety in instructions is only a short term solution and not a long term one for success.

In this process, many many fans were hurt and may choose not to ever return to the next game. He does not see the consequences and in the interest of the Legacy of the Malaysia Cup, as well as football, he chose to undermine it's principle foundation of providing entertainment, and inflicted pain to all the overbearing supporters not just in the stadium but at home.

Less than a month after PM Lee Hsien Loong heaped praise on the dedication and hard work of striker Sufian and FAS during the National Day Rally, now all his words of encouragement would have been better not said as it really is an insult to PM.

I hope FAM punish FAS and Johor FC and expel them and allow Johor FA and PKNS to enter instead. Infact, if there is proof the match had already been pre-arranged with a pre-determined result, CPIB should come in and investigate everyone.

If Sundram can say the players are tired, then professionalism is still very much lacking in everyone. Wouldn't it be better to tell the fans not to come and save their money?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If there is no legalized betting on this game, then I have nothing to say except that they still played by the rules, though I would have preferred the referee to be proactive by issuing players warnings or yellow cards for time-wasting play.

What both teams did is called match-fixing. Very surprised the Lions coach has such a thick skin by requesting $8-paying fans to support them in next match.
FAS and the Police should investigate if any player or Sundram the coach made substantial bets by getting friends or relatives to buy on their behalf. Fans should be refunded as well.

A very sad day for Singapore football. No pride after more than 10 years of PROFESSIONAL football.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wtf, i'm so ashamed by the LionsXII's 2nd half performance.. The good news is u guys are through to the next round but the bad news is, i've lost my respect for the team.. Seriously, i'd rather we lose the match than to advance in this manner..!

Remaking Singapore again?! No problem, listen only mah.

My friend who is married to the Internet said his wife told him that one Hammer Party MP recently got hammered by some netizens on that IPO-price-$38-got-hammered-to-$18-company website. I thought that should be quite interesting stuff so I went to take a look.

Basically that MP guy, who married a beautiful Singaporean performing artist whom I heard is quite famous in India by the way, claims that the Government is not willing to change whatever shit it is doing and the National Conversation which is happening now is just some wayang show to let people know they are looking into some issues... Yes, just looking into.... Then he said we already got this stuff before, such as the Remaking Singapore Wayang Show in 2002.

Hmmm.... Sounds interesting to me.... So even though I am damn busy with my business plus chasing chiobus all over Singapore, I decided to find out more about Remaking Singapore 2002 report as I know there is a super kwailan website which likes to hammer the Hammer Party. So if I find out that the Government actually improved and made some changes from that report, then I can provide ammo for that psycho website to hammer that party jialat jialat.

Luckily I got the Remaking Singapore report below just by typing a few words into a search engine:
http://was.nl.sg/wayback/20070115030104/http://www.remakingsingapore.gov.sg/Full%20Version%20of%20Remake%20Sg.pdf

Alamak! The report is damn long, more than 100 pages! Guess have to be long-winded, since it claims it sought opinions from more than 10,000 Singaporeans leh. So I just browsed but still managed to pick up some interesting stuff....

Page 30: Talking about foreigners and new citizens...... Hmmm....Very interesting stuff as that was in 2002, when foreigners were still quite manageable in terms of numbers and yet to overload the nation’s basic infrastructure and transport systems! It says Singaporeans are concerned in 2 areas - economic insecurity due to their presence and adverse impact on our nascent (to ah bengs/ah lians: this angmoh word means beginning or newly formed) national identity! Then this fantastic statement appears: Singaporeans’ worries are not necessarily due to a failure to understand rational arguments and reasons, but could stem from more visceral causes.

(Visceral means characterized by or proceeding from instinct rather than intellect: eg.a visceral reaction)

This is actually a very good observation or feedback which I suppose the committee agreed without a doubt! So we Singaporeans are rational and reasonable people, maybe just worried due to survival instincts. But the sad thing is, 10 years later, PM Lee starts to use the expression “one-eyed dragon” on those who seem to be too disturbed by foreigners. I really wonder what were the expressions on Vivian Balakrishnan’s and Khaw Boon Wan’s faces when they heard PM Lee uttered this?! These were the 2 leaders in charge of the Remaking Singapore committee who thought Singaporeans were rational and reasonable!

Even if the truth is as stated by PM Lee, we should investigate what could have transformed rational and reasonable beings into dragons in 10 years' time right? The cause (be it immigration policy or you-die-your-business attitude or whatever) might turn out to be something more terrible than dragons.

[Side track to PM Lee: My friend laughed like siao when PM Lee said don’t be a one-eyed dragon on TV. I asked him why and he said what a funny nickname PM Lee gave to himself. Oh, then I realised his last Chinese character means dragon... LOL....]

Page 35: Talking about early childhood and pre-school education issues. That time PM Goh Chok Tong didn’t think that area was important, so kena rejected. But now, 10 years later, PM Lee thinks it is important liao and is setting up a pre-school statutory board to look into the various concerns raised then:

Wow, it took 10 years for feedback to be finally accepted by the Government but at least PAP government is starting to be really good friends with young parents now... Good start, right? Though I wonder what suggestions will be accepted in another 10 years time....

Page ? (Sorry I forgot liao. Please tell me if you have time to search): Talks about newspaper simi lanjiao printing act and that the Government should allow more competition and accept private players into the market. But the proposal was kena rejected because the PAP kaki-lang (own people) committee thought otherwise.

Page ? (Sorry I forgot liao. Please tell me if you have time to search): Talks about re-drawing of electoral boundaries and why this practice should end! Wow, this one is a very bold suggestion put up by dunno which goondus. As usual of elitist I-scratch-your-backside-you-scratch-my-backside thinking, the committee wrote that the election rules were not as important as voting a prudent party to be in government. Hmmm....Sounds logical right?

My general feel after a quick browsing of the 2002 report seems to be that it is reflective of the will of most Singaporeans not only then, but in 2012 too. But my personal view is that the Hammer MP is correct to point out that nothing major has changed till now, although most civil servants now work 5-day weeks and no Primary 3 streaming leh... as well as emergence of 2 casinos and more vice-related activities/crimes. But I still hope someone from that highly secretive PAP Internet Brigade (which I heard is headed by a Gen. Baey Yam Keng) can educate me on how much Singapore has improved though.

Ok I have written enough.... Please read the entire report yourself if you are really keen to take part in the National Conversation 2012 as you can just ask the government how come this or that suggestion is not yet implemented. I believe 90% or all that can be said to the government in 2012 can also be found in 2002.

Lastly, feel free to comment if you have any ammo for me to send to that psycho website to hammer the Hammer Party. :P

Sun Xu – The Chinaman who says there are more dogs than humans in Singapore

I have been very the busy with my business these few weeks but when my friend told me got a Chinaman who scolded Singaporeans on his weibo (micro blog) account, I was damn pissed off and decided to check it out on the Internet. Click here.

It turns out that this boy, who consumes milk much less than I consume salt, is actually a Ministry of Education (MOE) government-sponsored scholar. I wonder what he would say to his students when he graduates to become a teacher in a Singapore school.

Maybe, to commence lesson, he may say: “Good morning puppies, today we are going to learn…..”

It is also very shocking for him to threaten Alex Tan, the Online Toothpick Seller, that he would be waiting for him with a knife. Jialat lah.… If you mess with some shit people, the outcome is you get more shit!

I wonder how MOE conduct their character profiling for all potential scholarship holders. A teacher should be someone who has a meek or kiasi character, slow to anger and be gracious to others right? Seems a simple online chatter has brought out the real character of Sun Xu. Is that what people call a “Freudian Slip”?

He thinks he is the top of the cream, having been schooled in a top junior college and selected to work in Schlumberger, world's largest oilfield services company, in his industrial attachment, which is part of his coursework in university. It would be much better if he showed some gratitude to this country which has given so much to him. The Chinese are famous for this idiom – 饮水思源, literally meaning to think of the origin of the water that you drink, which means to show gratitude for what you enjoy now.

IF Singapore really wants these type of talents to integrate into Singapore society, it should consider getting foreign scholarship holders to do regular community or social work. Have stints in some social welfare or voluntary organizations lah, then they can friend-friend chiobu volunteers and also rub shoulders with less well-to-do Singaporeans to understand their lifestyle. IF scholars like Sun Xu only limit their daily activities to China-based weibo accounts and their own circle of PRC friends, most likely they will leave Singapore once their bonds are served.

However, to be fair to this boy who doesn’t know how big the world is, we Singaporeans should be graceful and give him a chance to make right a wrong. How many of us did not make any silly mistake when we were in our teens? Maybe we were involved in some fights or had hurt people in some way or another.

So, it’s another of those times when we have to say again - ya, time to move on, fellow Sinkies!

Woodlands Residents: Why you all so bo liao???

Update: After I wrote the article below, my friend showed me the link of a group of youngsters who actually created a facebook page to teach these residents what are the proper values in life. Well done! Click here.
My friend who is married to the Internet said his wife informed him about this stupid bo liao news – residents in Woodlands are not happy that their void deck kena used by Gahmen to build an eldercare centre.

See one related news article here.

The people there are damn bo liao. What are they thinking of actually? They scare their property value will drop because of too many lao ah peks around is it? That the centre will smell of old folks’ shit or harmful bacteria will swarm the void deck har? I very worried that the basic respect for old people is going down the drain liao.

Come on lah! Without your parents, do you think you will be around to fucking complain about this issue?

I, for one, will forever be grateful to my dear parents for bringing me into this nice world of sweet chiobus and beautiful sceneries. They are not rich, in fact, quite poor. My mum used to work three jobs in a single day – morning sell mah pui bo (newspapers), afternoon go cakeshop to work as assistant, then nighttime go restaurant to be a waitress. Midnight then come back home. My father also work hard in his job. But we the kids where got worry about money one? Only know how to play and have fun. No money to eat sng bao (a type of ice cream) will just show our palms to ask mother for pocket money.

Now both my parents are happily retired. They got four children. All four went to university, one even got a Master’s degree. Three of them still giving them pocket money, each more than S$500, only got 1 son kena controlled by his wife and act blur, one year visit parents a few times and only give them money once in a blue moon. So every month my parents’ “pension” is close to S$2,000. I think they are quite ho mia now. :)

However I am fully aware got many ah peks and ah hmngs are old and penniless, and maybe kena deserted by their ungrateful children. They bo pian, have to work in some lan jiao food outlets which only give them $300-$500 per month and expect them to work hard everyday without falling sick or having back pain. These folks are really sibeh cham.

Taking care of ageing parents is the right thing to do, no matter where you are located or where the eldercare centre is to be located. Woodlands’ residents please shut the fuck up!

The lan jiao attitude of these Woodlands residents is the same as saying they don’t mind an MP having extramarital affairs with other married/single women as long as the MP does a sibeh solid job AND does not touch their wives or sisters or any females related to them!
